Xiaomi continues to be very diligent and produce new interesting products. We recently tested their POCO phones and the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Ultra, and in between they introduced the new Redmi laptops (14 and 16 inches).

Redmi Book Pro 14 (2024) has a 14-inch screen with a resolution of 2880 x 1800 (16:10 aspect ratio) and a dynamic refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The panel covers 100 percent of sRGB and promises up to 400 nits of brightness with DC dimming. The laptop has an all-metal body that is 15.9 mm thick and weighs 1.46 kilograms.

The basic configuration contains an Intel Core Ultra 5 125H processor with 4 powerful cores, 8 efficient cores and 2 low-power cores (18 threads in total) and 18 MB of L3 cache. The configuration is possible with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage or 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage.

For more power, there is an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H with 6 powerful cores, 8 efficient cores and 2 low-power cores (22 threads in total) and 24 MB of L3 cache. This one is only available with 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD.

The laptop relies on integrated Intel Arc graphics. The Ultra 5 chip has 7 Xe cores at 2.2 GHz, while the Ultra 7 has an additional Xe core and a slightly higher frequency of 2.25 GHz. Both support hardware-accelerated ray-tracing and have NPU cores that accelerate artificial intelligence (AI) functions in applications.

AI tasks include noise reduction, overwriting, webcam centering (1080p) and more. The 14-inch model has two fans with dual heat pipes and can be increased to 65W TDP. It is powered by an 80 Wh battery with 100 W charging via a GaN adapter.

The 16-inch laptop is 15.9 mm thick and weighs 1.88 kg. It has a larger battery (99 Wh ) and is equipped with a more powerful 140-W GaN adapter.

Charging takes place via the USB-C interface. Both laptops have one Thunderbolt 4 interface, one USB-C, two USB-A 3.2 Gen1, an HDMI 2.1 input and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The laptops run Windows 11 with enhanced HyperOS features. For example, you can use your Xiaomi phone's camera as a wireless webcam, or use your laptop's keyboard to write a message on your Xiaomi tablet.

The price of the 16-inch version is said to be around 1,000 euros, but let's wait for the real price when the computer arrives in Europe.
