White Shark at the Reboot Infogamer fair: Confirmation of strong support for gaming and concern for the social community and the environment

The company Šmit Electronic has its own brand White Shark at the largest regional fair for video games, gaming and related equipment Reboot Infogamer powered by A1 confirmed its leading position in the video game industry. In addition, it has expressed strong support for both the video game and gaming equipment industry as well as environmental concerns, nature protection and socially responsible projects.

The Infogamer Fair at the Zagreb Fair, which took place from November 9 to 12, 2023, returned after a four-year hiatus in an unprecedentedly extensive and rich performance, with more than 90 exhibitors, among which White Shark, as one of the largest, also brings 16 of its influencers. On the first day of the fair, new business approaches, a new range of gaming products and projects of financial support for the protection of sharks and the environment, scholarships for high school students in game development and support for education about safety/risks on the Internet and social networks and responsible influence were presented at the press conference.

For many years, White Shark has been the leader in the region in the distribution of computer and gaming equipment. With a responsibly selected product portfolio, good distribution throughout almost all of Europe and excellent digital marketing, which includes more than 50 influencers, last year he became the initiator and sponsor of many socially responsible projects. He also confirmed this by organizing several panel discussions as part of this year's Infogamer on topics of wider social importance.

One of the topics of the panel was "We take care of each other", which is also one of the projects that White Shark is working on as part of its initiative "We take care of each other". At Infogamer, they presented a donation of $100,000 (USD) to protect sharks and their environment. Given that the brand is called White Shark, protecting sharks makes perfect sense, especially given the fact that 70% of the 66 species that live in the Mediterranean are endangered, and that humans kill approximately 100 million sharks annually.

The ambassadors of White Shark also participate in this campaign - among them marathoner Dina Levačić, professor, journalist, environmentalist and influencer Domagoj Jakopović Ribafish, Vanja Peleš - world champion in snorkeling and others. Here, the white shark became an official donor of the world's largest environmental protection organization "International Union for Conservation of Nature" with a focus on shark protection.

An important project for the community, which White Shark highlighted at the second round table, was the start of cooperation with the Algebra College from Zagreb, where as part of the campaign "From play to business", award a full scholarship (€4,700 per year for all 4 years of study) to a young developer from Petrinja - Luka Djak. Recently, a scholarship agreement was signed for the young gaming enthusiast Josip Halambek for a 4-year high school education in Novska, where he will become an expert in the development of computer games.

White Shark also sponsored the Kutin high school team when they went to the world competition in robotics, which was held in Copenhagen a month ago.

Šmit Electronic and White Shark was founded and owned Stjepan Šmit, which, with its visions and great interest in ICT and gaming, in 30 years of business, from 1994 to the present day, the software company from Kutina has created a leading gaming brand on the domestic and wider regional market.

Thus, today gaming accounts for more than 50 percent of their sales, and it is logical how it has grown over the years. So they created a new brand and thus White Shark was born in 2016 and within a few months launched another gaming brand BARRACUDA.

Šmit emphasized that this year's Infogamer White Shark is taking part for the fourth time, and in addition, the presentation of the current offer and upcoming innovations was organized and participated in three panels - Fr

dangers of the Internet and social networks, educational opportunities in the development of computer games, etc. environmental protection and preservation of our environment. For next year, they announced another campaign under the working title "Play responsibly".

"The goal of everything is to additionally present ourselves to the wider social community, for which Infogamer of the largest fairs in the region, as well as in the world, is an excellent platform. White Shark's business is stable, and although the strong growth of gaming slowed down during the pandemic last year and this year, our products are on the shelves of all major retailers in Croatia and in the offer of most online stores. We also export to 35 countries, which represents more than 70 percent of the volume and continues to grow." revealed Šmit.

White Shark exports products and equipment to all countries of the region and to Great Britain, the Baltic States, the Czech Republic,

Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Albania, Tunisia, Morocco, Italy, France...

With the "Let's take care of each other" campaign, White Shark not only cares about the protection of the sea and sharks, but also about the protection of the environment in general, and the support and organization of sea and coastal clean-up campaigns.

“We are committed to removing plastic from all packaging and introducing more and more products made from recycled plastic. At the end of the year, the first bags and backpacks for laptops, which are made from recycled bottles," said Šmit.
