Steam chambers for future AMD Ryzen processors?

Vapor chambers have become a fixture in high-end Android smartphones. These are responsible for up to 60% more efficient heat dissipation compared to classic solutions. Thanks to the new cooling system, smartphones stay cool for longer and can provide an intact gaming experience for longer.

Therefore, it is not surprising that vapor chambers are also being considered by AMD, namely for their Ryzen family of processors. The prototype processor equipped with an innovative cooling method is the Ryzen 9 5950X3D. Although the new cooling system only helped to cool the processor by one degree on average, according to many experts, it has a bright future. This will enable the installation of new functions without an additional increase in the operating temperature.

It is currently unknown whether AMD will equip processors with vapor chambers in the future. Everything will depend on the sales potential of the novelty. The use of a vapor chamber makes the production process of processors more expensive, as copper is used, which is not exactly cheap. In addition, the production process is also more expensive, as it is much more complicated.
