Do you need to change your personal documents this year? By appointment at the administrative unit via the website
This year, 138,901 identity cards and 56,752 passports expire. It is recommended to submit the application for a new document at least 10 days before the day of travel, the Ministry of the Interior advises. You can file it at any administrative unit in Slovenia.
In order to renew or issue new documents, it is necessary to visit the administrative unit. Unfortunately, many are overburdened with work, as well as with phone calls, as each one should take several minutes, there are not enough female and male telephone operators, and they cannot give personal information over the phone.
Two years ago, therefore, the UeNaročanje portal (now eSamanaročanje [information in the article updated on 3/1/2024]) was launched, where you can choose the service you need online (e.g. replacing your ID card) and the administrative unit you want also perform the service. In the first phase, it enables ordering in five administrative units, which until now used the old Uenaročanje system - UE Ljubljana, UE Celje, UE Novo mesto, UE Litija and UE Logatec. Later, other administrative units will be gradually included in the system.
The ordering process is really easy. The user chooses the date when he wants to perform the service, selects the administrative unit from the list and then enters the information about which service he needs. In the next step, free appointments will be displayed, which can be booked, but a mobile phone number or email address is required for booking.
The waiting period for the issuance of an identity card or passport is usually a week. In the event of a large number of requests, it can be extended, in urgent cases, priority or urgent production is also possible, but it is slightly more expensive than the usual one.
