Toyota has unveiled a new NASCAR racing car

This year, Toyota decided to revamp the look of their Camry model, which will also bring changes and improvements to their cars in the world of NASCAR. This will greatly improve aerodynamics, which is one of the most important features if they want to compete with other racers. Despite everything, Toyota decided that the additions would be of a balanced nature and would not approach the changes too unilaterally.

An insight into the exterior

Let's take a closer look at the car. Compared to the previous model, the engine mask has a slightly more rectangular shape and no longer has as many "curves" as in the previous model. In addition to the shape of the mask, new output channels have been added, which are comparatively narrower. These ducts are especially important in more powerful cars, because they determine how the air moves around the car and the related aerodynamics.

Changes have also been made to the bumper, which shows that Toyota has really focused on better aerodynamics, or the movement of air around the car. The bumper is a part of production cars that has been optimized specifically for the racing car. The lower part of the bumper has a step that redirects the air to such an extent that, compared to its predecessor, it will stand much more firmly on the asphalt. Minor changes are noticeable on the side of the vehicle, namely the car is more leveled, there are no longer the well-known protrusions, which to some extent probably spoiled the air flow of the car. The rear part, however, did not receive as much attention compared to the front part. Here and there they fixed minor "mistakes" and made the car a little lighter.

Toyota has really gone all-in on their racing car and tried to improve it on many levels compared to its rivals. Based on what was presented from the Toyota side, it looks like the numbers have been maximized to the point where they are still within what is allowed for a NASCAR car and I believe that in the future Toyota cars will be much more competitive. The new models will take to the track for the first time in the coming days as they undergo pre-season testing.
