Spotify is the most famous and largest music service in the world, which offers a great user experience. Although some competitors offer higher sound quality, more intuitive use and connectivity with other devices, Spotify is still number one. Since 2020, it has also been available here, so we believe that many of you use it for sports, work and entertainment.

However, since quite a few users listen to music in their cars, at the end of April 2021, Spotify decided to prepare an extremely interesting portable player. The device, branded "Car Thing", was only available to select users in the United States. Only a few months later, it was available for purchase in other parts of the world.

The Spotify Car Thing portable player can be controlled both by buttons and by voice. The user only has to say the words “Hey Spotify” and select the desired song, album, artist, playlist or station. Of course, the device also has a wireless Bluetooth connection. But as everything shows, all these possibilities did not exactly convince more demanding users.

This is probably why Spotify decided to end support for their Car Thing portable player. It will completely cease to function on December 9 this year. This, of course, angered many users of the popular service. US users have even announced a class action lawsuit.

This is probably why Spotify has decided to offer a refund to anyone who bought their Car Thing portable player. The retail price of the Spotify Car Thing portable player is set at an estimated 67 euros in 2021 in the United States. Unfortunately, there is currently no information on how much money Spotify will refund to customers.
