The popular Xbox Series X will go up in price

Cena vstopne različice igralne konzole PlayStation 5 Digital Edition se je dvignila iz okoli 400 evrov na 450 evrov. Cena zmogljivejše različice PlayStation 5 pa se je povišala iz okoli 500 evrov na 550 evrov.

Sony justified the increase in the price of the PlayStation 5 gaming console by raising the price of electronic components. The main reason for this is, of course, the rising prices of energy and primary raw materials for the production of consoles. Although the price of the PlayStation 5 game console has increased by as much as 50 euros, these are still selling very well. However, no one was surprised when Microsoft also announced a similar price increase. It's no secret that both companies don't make a profit from selling consoles, but from games and subscriptions.

Microsoft is expected to raise the price of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S gaming consoles first in Japan. The price increase was announced for August 1 this year. Fortunately, only the Xbox Series X gaming console will go up in price, from the current 500 euros to 550 euros. This means that its price will be the same as the more powerful version of the PlayStation 5 gaming console. The entry-level model Xbox Series S will still be available for 300 euros.

Another model of the Xbox Series S gaming console will be available to customers. The Carbon Black version will be available with a Solid State drive with a capacity of one terabyte. This means that almost twice as many games can be stored on it as on the classic Xbox Series S console. It will cost around 350 euros.

Unfortunately, Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions will also become more expensive. The price of the Xbox Game Pass subscription will increase from 9.99 euros to 10.99 euros. The much more popular Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription will increase in price from 12.99 euros to 14.99 euros. PC Game Pass will still be available for 9.99 euros.
