First notebooks with Intel Raptor Lake-HX Refresh coming soon
Recently, the first laptops equipped with Intel Raptor Lake HX processors hit the market. Soon, however, the company is expected to prepare 14th generation processors for portable computers, i.e. a refresh of the Raptor Lake platform.
As it seems, Intel's Raptor Lake Refresh family processors are practically ready to go on sale. Computer enthusiasts received the Core i5-14450HX model for testing, which was built into the Colorful M15 24 laptop. The new Core i5-14450HX processor uses six powerful cores and four energy-saving cores to calculate data. There are therefore a total of 10 physical processor cores available. The operating frequency was 4.8 gigahertz, which is 200 hertz more than the previous generation.
The Core i5-14450HX processor scored 1,776 points in the Geekbench benchmark in single-core mode and 11,026 points in multi-core mode. Performance is therefore only minimally better than its predecessor. However, since this is still an unofficial version of the first Intel processor of the Raptor Lake Refresh family, the final results will have to wait a little longer.
The new Intel processors will most likely be officially presented during the CES 2024 consumer electronics conference. The most powerful model of the new family will be the Core i9-13980HX. The latter will calculate data with eight powerful and 16 energy-saving processor cores with a frequency of 5.8 gigahertz. The Intel graphics core with 32 powerful graphics units will cope with the calculation of graphic content.
