The first AMD Ryzen 8000 processor impresses

Since the competition in the field of processors for personal computers does not rest, AMD has been preparing successors to the popular Ryzen 7000 processors for quite some time. This will be the new family of Ryzen 8000 processors, which will be based on the completely renewed Zen 5 processor core (Strix Point). Although these won't go on sale until next year, information about the first model of the new family of processors has already appeared online.

The first processor of the new family is equipped with the Ryzen 8050 label. This is a 12-core processor that was manufactured using 4-nanometer technology. There are likely five Zen 5 processor cores and four Zen 5c processor cores available here. Since the novelty consumes up to 45 watts of electrical power at full load, it will also be suitable for portable computers.

The AMD Ryzen 8050 processor also boasts 24 megabytes of L3 cache, 128-bit LPDDR5X system memory and an artificial intelligence system with the power of 20 TOPS. The newcomer, along with other models of the Ryzen 8000 family, will go on sale in the second half of next year, and we should see models of the Ryzen 7000G family even earlier. These will primarily be aimed at desktop PCs, and will be available in the second half of the year.
