Courier steals Apple devices as a bet

Being a courier is not an easy job. Namely, it delivers and accepts various types of shipments. He collects the shipment from the customer, transfers it to the courier service, where it is marked and documented accordingly, and then delivers it to the desired address. Unfortunately, among them there are also those who want to get rich at the expense of unsuspecting customers.

Users of the delivery company UPS in Canada have experienced this firsthand. Orville Martirez Beltrano stole Apple devices with a total value of more than a calculated 878 thousand euros between September 2023 and January 2024. In total, the man managed to steal as many as 866 different Apple devices.

The man sold the stolen devices through the online store Kijiji, which is similar to eBay in terms of operation. He improperly transferred part of the money to his bank account, and used the rest to pay off the car and house debt. Most of the illegally acquired property was confiscated by the police, as expected, in order to pay off the debt.

The man admitted to the police that he stole Apple products directly from the logistics center. However, since delivery services lose around one percent of shipments annually, the man skillfully evaded the deadline for several months. But fortunately, he was recently brought to justice. Of course, his prison sentence will soon be determined by the court.
