Telemach presented its own 5G phone

Telemach, one of the largest Slovenian telecommunications companies, is expanding its range of mobile telephony, but not with a new package, but with its own phone.
Telemach presented its own 5G phone

The phone, which will apparently simply be called Telemach 5G (the box also has the label UG Phone U23), will from September 15 available for 179 € . In the old-for-new promotion, it will be available for only one euro. The launch of the phone is part of Telemach's broader strategy to bring the 5G network, the telecommunications standard of the future, to the masses at an affordable price.

What are the specifications of the Telemach 5G phone?

To produce the Telemach 5G phone, they joined forces with to ZTE manufacturers, which also has the more famous Nubia Red Magic gaming phones under its wing.

It's in the foreground support for 5G network, which is not a given in the class of phones under €200. The Telemach 5G phone will also support it VoLTE service, the VoWiFi service, at least according to the CEO of Telemachus, Adrian Ježina, is not currently planned. For now, it remains the only provider of calls via the Telekom Slovenije wireless network.

Inside the phone beats the heart of a low-end processor Unisoc T760. It is octa-core processor, four cores are faster ARM Cortex-A76, and the rest are more economical ARM Cortex-A55. It is available for multitasking 4 GB of system memory and the possibility of virtual expansion up to 4 GB. Basic storage is available for storing pictures and recordings 128 GB of space.

It is pre-installed Android 13, but at this moment it is not yet known how many years of support the Telemach 5G phone will receive. But it is known that it has 3-year warranty.

On the back there is a ring with cameras, which at first glance resembles the design of Honor phones. The main camera has a resolution 50 million pixels dots, and the secondary camera is 2 MP. There is also a 5 MP selfie camera on the front.

One of the better features is 90-Hz refresh rate 6.53-inch LED screen (resolution 720p). The first impression was encouraging. The processor is apparently powerful enough that we didn't notice any image tearing or stuttering at 90 Hz.

Battery capacity 5000 mAh will probably be able to last well over a day. The combination of a lower screen resolution and lower-end components means that the phone is not a huge power user for everyday tasks. They are available two SIM card slots. Some Telemach applications are preinstalled: EON TV, subscription portal Telemach, EON Connect, N1info and Sportklub.

We will also test the Telemach 5G phone in the editorial office in the next few days.

Action old for new, which promotes the concept of sustainability and reuse, will most likely be the best bargain for potential buyers. The value of one euro is hard to beat. At full price, the phone is already facing competition (Redmi, POCO, Galaxy A, vivo...), which it will have a hard time surpassing, at least with the first generation of phones. More on this in the detailed test of the phone in the coming weeks.

Growth of market shares

Telemach has been around since 2015 the fastest growing mobile operator. In the segment of broadband Internet (32.2 %) and VoIP telephony, it occupies the first place in Slovenia. Recently, United Group, which includes Telemach, sold telecommunication towers in Slovenia, Bulgaria and Croatia to Tawal from Saudi Arabia. Thus, Telemach joined a trend that has been present on the telecommunications market for several years, especially abroad. At the beginning of the year, A1 Slovenia also decided on a similar move.
