Special editions of Windows 10 and Windows 11 for Europe

At the beginning of March, the Digital Markets Act (Digital Markets Act - DMA) entered into force. This ensures, among other things, that equal competitive conditions and legal security for companies are established on the market, and that the rights and interests of European citizens are protected. Including in the field of operating systems.

Some time ago, Apple announced the preparation of a dedicated iOS mobile operating system for the European market. The same move was also decided by Microsoft. In practice, this means that Microsoft will prepare special versions of the Windows 10 and 11 operating systems for the European market.

The Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems were not fully compliant with the Digital Markets Act. The updated version will eliminate all the shortcomings. The new Windows 10 and Windows 11 will be available via online updates and also on newer pre-installed, already assembled PCs.

The new Windows 10 and Windows 11 bring quite a few changes. The user is now given the option to easily remove the Edge web browser and the Bing search engine. Microsoft has made it possible for competing web search engines to search the web through a dedicated search window in the Windows operating system. The registration system has also received improvements, as the user has more options to choose what to use.

Upgraded versions of Windows 10 and Windows 11 will be available for free. The update will be available at the beginning of April. The new systems will of course only be available for the European market.
