Special GeForce RTX 4090 D card for China only
Relations between the United States of America and China have not yet completely calmed down. Popular Chinese manufacturers of electronic equipment still have problems in doing business with American companies as well as other major companies in the world. Of course, PC users, especially computer game enthusiasts, feel these limitations.
Nvidia was recently banned from selling the GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card in the Chinese market. However, since it is still a huge market, the computer giant decided to prepare a special version of the currently most powerful graphics card for games for Chinese game lovers.
According to the latest specification information, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 D card is said to feature a stripped-down version of the Ada Lovelace GPU found in the RTX 4090. This version is labeled as SKU AD102-250-A1 and is said to offer a lower core count in order to stay within the TPP (Total Processing Performance) requirements set by the US government and to be compliant with the latest export rules.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 D graphics card is said to have a base frequency of 2280 MHz, which is 45 MHz more than the RTX 4090 model, and the maximum frequency is rated at the same 2520 MHz. The card will likely retain 24GB of GDDR6X memory with over 1TB/s of bandwidth and a TGP of over 400W.
The US Department of Commerce and Secretary Gina Raimondo recently took a lenient stance on China's restrictions on AI chips, saying that NVIDIA must sell chips to China because they are also used for commercial applications such as games. The price should be similar to that of the classic RTX 4090, namely around 1,800 euros.
