Game lovers saw the arrival of one of the most anticipated gaming consoles of all time in November 2020. We are, of course, talking about the Sony PlayStation 5 console, which has been in huge demand since the very beginning of sales. Fans of console games were initially offered two versions, namely the classic PlayStation 5 and the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition, which does not have an optical drive. Recently, they were joined by a thinner version of the novelty, which can be purchased in the USA.

Although today only the PlayStation 5 game console is being talked about, the Sony company was recently fined for restricting competition with the PlayStation 4 game console. The French authorities fined the computer giant 13.5 million euros for the Dual Shock 4 gamepad. The Sony company used technical controls to limit the operation of gamepads that were manufactured by external companies without using its license.

Sony was "sued" to the French competition watchdog by the renowned manufacturer of high-quality, but still cheap, Subsonic gamepads. This one had quite a few problems when preparing the gamepad for the PlayStation 4 game console. In addition, users complained about the occasional unreliability of the gamepad. Although the €13.5 million fine will not jeopardize Sony's operations, hopefully it will no longer limit competition in the future.
