Drivers are increasingly aware that cars are no longer just a pile of iron on four wheels. Modern means of transport contain more and more advanced technologies. This is especially true for electric cars, as most functions in the car are managed by dedicated software. As these types of cars are gaining in popularity, it is no surprise that Samsung has recently prepared a fast UFS 3.1 memory for them.

Universal Flash Storage, or UFS, is a storage drive technology found in smartphones and other mobile devices, including modern cars. Samsung has prepared UFS 3.1 system memories for cars with a capacity of 128 gigabytes, 256 gigabytes and 512 gigabytes. The most powerful is the model with 256 gigabytes of space, as it is 33 percent more powerful than its predecessor.

Samsung UFS 3.1 drives for cars offer write data at a speed of 700 megabytes per second and read data at a speed of up to 2,000 megabytes per second. In addition, these memories are equipped with AEC-Q100 Grade2 certification. In practice, this means that they can be used in the temperature range between -40 and plus 105 degrees Celsius. The first computer systems for cars equipped with UFS 3.1 memory modules are expected to be manufactured before the end of the year.
