Samsung is betting big on the new Exynos 2400

The companies Samsung and AMD prepared a mobile graphics core of the new generation just over a year ago. As expected, the Xclipse 920 core was built into the Samsung Exynos 2200 processor. The graphics core is based on the RDNA2 architecture and can easily handle the most demanding graphics tasks.

Although the Exynos family of processors are excellent, Samsung did not opt for them when preparing the new smartphones of the Galaxy S23 family. All newcomers are equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile processors from Qualcomm, as this is still better in terms of performance compared to the Exynos family processors. Nevertheless, Samsung has not yet said the last word in the field of Exynos family processors.

Their engineers have already started the development of the interesting Exynos 2400 mobile processor. The novelty will be something special, as it will have as many as 10 physical 64-bit processor cores, manufactured using 4-nanometer technology, available for data calculation. The most powerful processor core will be Cortex-X4 with a frequency of up to 3.1 gigahertz. Here we will find two Cortex-A720 cores with a frequency of 2.9 gigahertz, three Cortex-A720 cores with a frequency of up to 2.6 gigahertz and four Cortex-A520 processor cores with a frequency of 1.8 gigahertz.

Samsung engineers will install the Xcplise 940 graphics core in the upcoming Exynos 2400 processor. This should be almost twice as powerful compared to the current Xclipse 920 graphics processor. The novelty should actually support 8K video playback at 60 frames per second and photo capture up to a total resolution of 320 million pixels. The connection will be handled by the Samsung Exynos 5300 modem. This will enable transfer speeds of up to 10 gigabits per second and upload speeds of 3.87 gigabits per second. This should satisfy even the most demanding users without major problems.
