Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra – 5 Biggest and Most Anticipated Updates
We could get the new Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra quite soon, the latest predictions point to January 22nd as the date when Samsung will officially announce the new phone. Given the many speculations and guesses, we have a pretty clear picture of what to expect from the device.
Of course, not all predictions will definitely come true, but there are 5 of those that appear most often when writing web portals. If the five predictions below come true, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will be a much more powerful phone than its predecessors.
So let's see what exactly we are talking about.
1. Snapdragon 8 Elite processor
One thing we can expect from new Galaxy S models every year is an updated processor that powers the device with more power. Even though it's a regular upgrade, that doesn't mean it isn't exciting.
The new Galaxy S25 Ultra is said to be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which promises a significant improvement in performance compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The announced processor is said to bring laptop performance to the phone, and some even expect the new Samsung's performance indicators to be higher than those on the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
2. New ultra wide angle camera
Samsung's Ultra models have always belonged to the very top of photo and video quality. With the new camera, the S25 Ultra should raise the bar even higher. Rumors suggest that the device will jump from 12MP on the Galaxy S24 Ultra to a 50MP ultra-wide camera on the new model.
In terms of pixels, this is absolutely a huge upgrade, which could bring the camera in question closer to the level of the main one. In addition, with this move, Samsung would be a step closer to the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which provided a similar upgrade over its predecessor, namely from 12MP to 48MP.
3. Bigger screen
One upgrade that can safely be called "big" is the screen. Apparently, the new Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will be equipped with an enormous 17.53-centimeter screen. If we again compare the screen size with the previous model, the change is not big, namely the S24 Ultra boasts a 17.27-centimeter screen, but we can see where the trend is going. Once again, Samsung with the new screen would be more in line with the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which also has a 17.53-centimeter screen.
4. More curved design
At the same time, with a larger screen, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra could have a more curved or rounded design, namely at the corners of the edges. So one more step closer to the rest of the Samsung Galaxy S25 series. If other rumors about smaller bezels and a lighter phone overall are true, the S25 Ultra could be more comfortable to use.
5. More RAM
Last among the five main potential upgrades for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is more RAM. The S24 Ultra is powered by 12GB of RAM, while the S25 Ultra is rumored to have up to 16GB. It should be noted here that there is a possibility that such amounts of RAM will only be available in certain model configurations.
From an AI perspective, upgrading to 16GB of RAM definitely makes sense. The extra RAM could speed up all UI operations on the phone, and if Samsung actually offers 16GB of RAM, the Galaxy S25 Ultra could be the “UI phone” of 2025.
