Samsung: we expect new "premium" smart watches this year

Samsung has confirmed that "new premium models" will be introduced this year, but most likely towards the end of the year. This fueled further speculation that alongside the Galaxy Watch 7, the main rival Apple Watch Ultra will also enter the market.

At this year's first presentation of business results to shareholders for the first quarter, the company stated that they are already preparing new devices:In the field of smartwatches, MX Business will aim to meet the demand for upgrades by launching new premium models.”

At first glance, this is a rather loose statement that doesn't give us anything concrete - in fact, only that Samsung plans to launch smartwatches in 2024, which even AI models could predict with certainty.

However, it is worth pointing out the recent increase in rumors and speculation about the shape of the Galaxy Watch 7 series, which gives us a little more food for thought. The most speculations are about the Samsung Galaxy Watch FE model and the “Galaxy Watch Ultra” project.

At the moment, the opinions of experts are divided. Some believe that the Galaxy Watch 7 will consist of a standard and a “Pro” edition, while others claim that it will be a repeat of the “Classic” edition (the sequel to the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic from 2023).

Anyway, for now, it seems most likely that we can expect an all-new “Ultra” edition, which Samsung has never used before in its smartwatch lineup.

If the Galaxy Watch FE is indeed coming, this could potentially mean that we're in for as many as four new Samsung smartwatch models in 2024 – all in addition to the much-anticipated Galaxy Ring, the Galaxy Fit 3 activity tracker, and Galaxy AI innovations for Samsung Health.

We will have to wait a little longer for the official confirmation of all this information, rumors and speculations.

Samsung's next Galaxy Unpacked event is expected to take place in early July and will almost certainly feature the next generation of wearables.
