PlayStation 6 is expected to be on sale already...
Sony pleasantly surprised us at the end of last year with the launch of the highly anticipated PlayStation 5 Pro gaming console. It brings a larger Solid State Drive and a more powerful processor. The new PlayStation 5 Pro is expected to be available without an optical drive, as interest in it is declining.
The main trump card of the new PlayStation 5 Pro game console is, of course, the processor. Recently revealed specifications of the novelty indicate that it is actually an AMD processor equipped with eight special Zen 2 processor cores and an RDNA 3 graphics card with as many as 30 active graphics cores and 16 gigabytes of GDDR6 graphics memory. The processor will certainly cope with even the most demanding tasks, as it should be able to reach an operating frequency of up to four gigahertz under full load. The processor of the regular PlayStation 5 console reaches a maximum of 3.5 gigahertz. The rest of the hardware has also received significant improvements.
But it seems that Sony engineers are already working on its successor. Of course, we are talking about the PlayStation 6 game console. It is expected to hit store shelves in 2028, in two versions. The first will be intended for homes (a classic console), and the second will actually be a portable console. This will therefore be both a hardware and software transformation compared to the current PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro. More about this extremely interesting game console will probably be known in the next few months.
