Pixel Fold 2 with improved multitasking and resolution
While we usually wait until October to see what Google cooks up in terms of phones, this year will be a little different as the event will be held as early as August. Of course, it is not known what will be announced at the event. But we have some guesses due to hints and rumors that have surfaced online over the past few months. Perhaps the most exciting news is that Google's next announcement could be the arrival of the next foldable phone.
While we've heard a lot of different things, one of the more interesting topics is that the "Pixel Fold 2" could officially join the Pixel 9 series this year as the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. While we're not entirely sure about this new moniker, it's more important that we're getting a new foldable phone from Google. The first one didn't do well or was just average. This is partially forgiven because it is the first generation, and we expect that the same errors will not appear in the next one.
Rumors have revealed that Google has addressed software flaws and that they will likely improve the screen resolution as well.
Android Authority reports that the new foldable phone will get a new way to split the screen, which should improve multitasking. How this mode will work is not yet clear. But they certainly need to tackle this problem, because the main advantage of foldable phones is productivity.
The new resolution (of the internal screen) is said to be 2076 x 2152. If the diagonal remains the same (7.6 inches), it will be quite a solid upgrade. The presentation is still a good month away, and Android 15 will also be officially launched at the event.
