The Vivo X100 Pro is coming to Europe and, in all probability, to Slovenia as well. It will once again compete with the best, this time with an even more refined set of cameras, including an upgraded telephoto lens.

Vivo is aware of the importance of lenses in the compact form factor of smartphones. Both the Vivo X100 and Vivo X100 Pro phones will get upgraded cameras, but we'll only see the Pro version in Europe.

Like its predecessor, the X90 Pro, the X100 Pro offers a 50-megapixel main camera with a one-inch size, which is a huge sensor by smartphone standards. Vivo says it has been tuned with “optical precision calibration” for “consistent sharpness and quality”. The X100 Pro's 50MP telephoto camera has also been upgraded to 4.3x optical zoom, up from 2x on the previous model. It is equipped with the new APO designation, which is Zeiss' terminology for a lens designed to reduce chromatic aberration. There is also a floating lens element that allows for close-up photography with a telephoto lens.

The X100 has a more conventional 50MP 1/1.49-inch main camera sensor and a 64MP optical telephoto lens with 3x zoom. There's no floating element here, but the lenses of both devices have been coated with Zeiss coatings. Both phones have a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a secondary imaging chip, but the X100 packs the older V2, while the Pro features the latest V3, which enables cinematic 4K portrait video.

The X100 and X100 Pro are built on MediaTek's flagship Dimensity 9300 chipset. Both have the same 6.78-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. They also earned an IP68 water resistance rating. The Vivo X90 Pro was available in April for 1,199 euros. We can expect a similar price for the Vivo X100 Pro.
