Oppo A2 Pro: Cheap and surprisingly powerful
Oppo has hit the shelves with a new A2 Pro phone with several important features, but the biggest focus is on the company's new free battery replacement program.
The program will allow users to change the phone's battery free of charge if it loses 80 % of its capacity in less than 4 years. For now, this program is only available in China. We will have to wait a little longer for information on whether the company plans to introduce something similar in Europe. Oppo must first resolve a dispute with Nokia over the use of their patents.
The phone has a curved 6.7-inch 1080p AMOLED screen with a fast refresh rate of 120 Hz, supported by a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor. The most important assurance to users is that the 5,000 mAh battery is designed to maintain its capacity for at least four years after the original purchase , which promises long-term reliability. It also supports 67W fast charging.
The A2 Pro offers up to 12 GB of RAM and a spacious 512 GB of storage with a fast UFS 3.1 drive standard. Despite the huge camera frame with four cutouts for photographic lenses, the phone only has a 64 MP main camera (f/1.7) and a 2 MP depth sensor. On the software front, it runs ColorOS 13.1 based on Android 13, which means the user experience will be familiar to all existing Android users.
Additionally, it has an IP54 water and dust resistance rating and an in-display fingerprint reader. Oppo A2 Pro is available in three colors: Vast Black, Desert Brown (with vegan leather) and Twilight. The price starts at $248 for the model with 8GB of system memory and 128GB of storage, while the version with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage is priced at $330.
