OpenAI has doubled its weekly users
According to OpenAI, over 200 million people use ChatGPT. Last November, The Verge reported that they had 100 million users. So they doubled the number of users in less than a year.
Spokesperson Taya Christianson also revealed that 92 % Fortune 500 companies are using OpenAI products/services, and usage of their API has doubled since the release of the cheaper and better GPT-4o Mini model.
The launch of ChatGPT also encouraged other players to venture with their own similar chatbots. As expected, Google, Microsoft and Meta very quickly presented their solutions or entered into a partnership with OpenAI.
Not wanting to be held accountable, Mark Zuckerberg also revealed the numbers about their AI assistant. According to their data, they have already reached more than 400 million monthly users, and 185 million weekly users. These are very impressive numbers, especially since their service is not even available everywhere in the world, such as the EU and the UK.
OpenAI and Anthropic, another well-known name in artificial intelligence, have reached an understanding with the US Artificial Intelligence Security Institute and promised to submit their language models for evaluation before they are launched and available to the public.
Apple and Nvidia are also rumored to be interested in potentially investing in OpenAI. At OpenAI, however, they are looking for ways to deal with all claims of copyright theft and how to protect themselves from similar accusations.
