New Xiaomi HyperOS also for 2020 phone
Zhang Guoquan, director of Xiaomi's smartphone software division, has confirmed that Xiaomi plans to release the HyperOS update for its Mi 10 and Mi 11 series smartphones this month. As Guoquan announced in a recent comment on Weibo, the update is expected to arrive in mid-April. Since the Mi 10 and Mi 11 series are already older generations of Xiaomi devices, the HyperOS update for these models will not be based on the latest Android 14, but on Android 13.
Furthermore, HyperOS will replace the previous MIUI in some models of Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco smartphones. Although the new HyperOS, based on Android 14, brings many improvements, Xiaomi points out that the goal of the new update is to unite all devices in the ecosystem into a single system framework. This unity is expected to enable seamless connectivity between various Xiaomi devices, including smartphones, TVs, watches, speakers and even cars, such as the new Xiaomi SU7 EV in China. In addition, the update will also bring artificial intelligence improvements, faster device and application startups, improved security features, and a more efficient user interface that will take up less space.
With this update, the Mi 10 and Mi 11 series will join the list of devices slated to receive the update in the second quarter of 2024.
