New Surface Laptop Studio 2 available in Europe

Microsoft has launched the second generation Surface Laptop Studio 2, which includes the latest Intel processors, more powerful graphics cards, an updated selection of connectors and more. The Surface Laptop 2 was announced alongside a small group of other Surface PCs at a special event held on September 21st. On October 3, computers officially hit the shelves.

The Surface Laptop Studio 2 retains the same design as its predecessor - including a silver color scheme. The only external changes are related to the selection of connectors, where Thunderbolt 4 USB-C has made some new friends.

On the left side, you'll find a new USB-A port alongside two USB-C ports, while on the right is a new microSD card reader alongside the magnetic Surface Connect port and 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Surface Laptop Studio 2 is made of aluminum, while the original model used magnesium alloy. It's also a little heavier and thicker, but thanks to the aluminum it's more durable.

In terms of new features, the Surface Laptop Studio 2 includes an upgraded haptic trackpad that can provide more accurate haptic feedback. The screen is also brighter with support for HDR content, while keeping the same size (14.4 inches).

Surface Laptop Studio 2 will also support Windows Studio Effects, a feature previously exclusive to ARM devices with a dedicated NPU.

The Surface Laptop Studio 2 may not appear to have changed much, but it's actually a pretty significant upgrade over its predecessor. With the latest Intel processor and NVIDIA graphics inside, the Surface is finally a device you can use to play games.

However, if you want to save some money, you can definitely find a predecessor at a lower price that is still considered a powerful device.
