New Nvidia GeForce graphics card for budget laptops

New Nvidia GeForce graphics card for budget laptops

After a very long time, Nvidia has finally officially announced a new version of the GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card for laptops. This is a relatively cheap GeForce RTX 3050 A graphics card, which will be used for playing computer games at 1080p resolution. The novelty is based on the AD106 graphics core, which was made on the basis of the Ada Lovelace building.

The cheaper mobile version of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 A graphics card is expected to be equipped with just four gigabytes of GDDR6 graphics memory. The new GA106 graphics core has 1,792 CUDA cores available for data recalculation, or 256 cores less than the previous model. Despite this, the new graphics core is still a match for more modern PC games. The core and graphics memory are connected via a 64-bit (instead of 128-bit) data bus.

Since the cheaper Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 A graphics card is slightly less powerful than the previous version, the consumption of electricity is correspondingly lower. This is only 45 watts. Nevertheless, with the help of DLSS Super Resolution (DLSS 2) technology, it is up to four times more powerful compared to previous generations of graphics cards. Therefore, it is not surprising that the new Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 will perform without major problems even when playing several more graphically demanding games. We will see the first laptops equipped with Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 A mobile graphics cards on the market before the beginning of autumn.
