Musk's AI chatbot Grok is now available to everyone
The chatbot Grok, which Elon Musk introduced last November, was from the very beginning only available to Premium users of the X platform. From now on, the AI chatbot is also available to all other users, but in a limited form. Each user can send up to 10 messages to Grok, after which they must wait two hours before continuing the conversation.
xAI introduced Grok as a “humorous AI assistant” last year, but it was reportedly only available to Premium subscribers. Three months ago, Grok was upgraded with a function to generate photos with text prompts, similar to how it works for example DALL-E, but without the limitations (such as creating photos with famous people) that we are used to with other generators.
TechCrunch noticed last month that Musk had begun offering Grok to all users in certain regions, but the company did not comment at the time on whether the robot would soon be available worldwide. Otherwise, this was inevitable if Musk and company wanted to compete with existing chatbots, especially ChatGPT.
xAI recently managed to raise 6 billion in funding to further develop Grok and its accompanying language models – as well as developing a standalone app for phone and PC.
