Motorola makes good affordable phones. They should not be underestimated even in the premium segment and category of foldable phones, where currently the Motorola Razr+ is one of the best flip phones, for many even better than the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5. Motorola will thus end 2023 with two new phones: Moto G54 5G and Moto G84 5G.

Moto G84 5G official launch date September 1, 2023 and Moto G54 5G September 6, but currently exclusively in the Indian market. The Moto G54 5G has been spotted on the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) list, which is a sign that the phone will at least make its way to the US market and possibly Europe as well.

The Moto G54 5G will be the first phone in its segment to feature a hardware combination of 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, in addition to 1TB microSD expandability. The phone also has a MediaTek Dimensity 7020 chip, a 6.5-inch FHD+ IPS LCD with a 20:9 ratio and a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a 6000 mAh battery.

The Moto G84 5G is not on the FCC list for now. However, it has a Snapdragon 695 processor, which, at least at the moment, does not excite us, as it is an average processor. The Moto G84 still has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, but lacks a microSD slot.

Moto G84 5G has a 6.55-inch 10-bit FHD+ pOLED screen with a ratio of 20:9 and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a battery with a capacity of 5,000 mAh. In short, the same as the G54.

Both devices will launch with Android 13 and promise an update to Android 14 and three years of security updates.
