Insomniac promises to reveal more information about the release of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 soon after showing off a spectacular trailer at the PlayStation Showcase.
"Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Coming Soon"

Fans have been anxiously awaiting more information on the game's sequel for months since it was first announced in 2021, but aside from a few rumors, marketing blurbs from the developer, and hints from some media outlets (the new comic book and the upcoming Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse movie), there has been no there were many details.

The drought ended recently at the PlayStation Showcase event, which ended with a new story trailer and an in-depth look at the gameplay mechanics of Marvel's Spider-Man 2. In this exciting installment, it was finally confirmed that Peter Parker will indeed wield the iconic black Symbiote suit, along with a more aggressive fighting style based on the Symbiote's tentacles, and a darker nature to match his transformation and the overall tone of the story.

Fans also got more scenes of Miles Morales on the run from the Lizard. Kraven The Hunter also appeared, heading to New York with his army in search of the biggest catch ever.

The new trailer for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 game revealed a lot about the upcoming adventure, but one thing still remains in the dark - and that is the exact release date of the game. Shortly after the PlayStation Showcase aired, Insomniac took to Twitter to thank players for their positive reactions to the new gameplay footage.

The developer promised fans that more information will be revealed soon, including Spider-Man 2's release date, pre-order bonuses, and accessibility features. Spider-Man 2 is currently slated for release sometime in the fall of 2023, which was confirmed once again at the end of yesterday's trailer.

A few months before that, actor Tony Todd, who will portray Venom, claimed that the game would be released in September after a massive summer marketing campaign, but he later played down the sudden information. It's unclear when Insomniac plans to reveal new information about Spider-Man 2, but it could happen during Summer Game Fest next month, as parent company PlayStation is already confirmed for that event.

Either way, Insomniac is assuring eager fans that they may not have to wait much longer to find out when Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will finally land (exclusively for now) on PlayStation 5.
