The legendary Apple iPhone 2G in its original packaging sold for a record price
Currently, the most well-known and popular smartphone of all time, Apple's iPhone, had its public presentation 16 years ago, in 2007. At that time, the computer giant presented a smartphone that still represents an unattainable standard for the competition in terms of build quality and performance. In addition to excesses in the field of design and hardware, the Apple iPhone also brought the iOS operating system, which currently has no competition in terms of ease of use and smoothness of operation.
Although more than a decade has passed since the introduction of the first mobile phone, the iPhone 2G, it is still in active use, believe it or not. But the iPhone 2G is mainly enjoyed by those who bought it and never opened it. These phones fetch staggering sums at auctions. They are extremely popular among collectors, which is why they are willing to shell out huge sums of money for them.
One of the rare iPhone 2G smartphones in its original packaging was recently offered for auction by the renowned auction house LCG Auctions. This is the Apple iPhone 2G phone, which was offered exclusively to users of the US mobile network Verizon. As expected, the phone attracted the attention of many buyers, and in the end it was sold for an incredible price of 169,000 euros. This was a version equipped with four gigabytes of space, which was sold in 2007 for 499 US dollars.
