Interesting completely Chinese graphics card Lingjiu GP201
In the field of discrete graphics cards, we currently find two superior companies, namely Nvidia and AMD. Intel has also entered the market, but it is struggling with many hardware and software errors on its graphics cards. A recent survey by Jon Peddie Research showed that Nvidia currently controls as much as 77 percent of the graphics card market. About 16 percent belongs to the company AMD, which owns a larger share every year.
At the beginning of this year, the Chinese company Lingjiu Microelectronics also started this field. They have prepared their own graphics core with the designation GP201. This is available in three models, namely with a profile with two slots, with a single slot and a version intended for laptops. The default frequency of the graphics core is 1.2 gigahertz, and at full load it reaches 1.2 teraflops. Two gigabytes of graphics memory are available for storing intermediate calculations.
The Lingjiu Microelectronics GP20 graphics card has a PCIe 3.0 data bus for data exchange with the motherboard. At full load, it consumes only 30 watts of electrical power. Unfortunately, the novelty is not overly powerful. The performance of the Lingjiu Microelectronics GP201 graphics card can be compared with the ten-year-old AMD E8860 integrated graphics solution. Therefore, we do not believe that the novelty will be available outside the Chinese market.
