Instagram introduced a feature to create its own AI chatbots
Instagram's new AI Studio will allow creators to create their own AI-powered versions of chatbots, and Meta will begin rolling it out in the US as an "early test," Mark Zuckerberg recently announced.
As part of the test, "in the coming weeks, you may start seeing AI from your favorite creators and AI based on user interests on Instagram," Zuckerberg said. "For now, these will appear primarily in messages and will be clearly labeled as artificial intelligence."
For example, Zuckerberg shared some videos of conversations with artificial intelligence chatbots created by creators. You can tap the "Message" button on the creator's Instagram to start a conversation. At the top is a notice that the messages are generated by artificial intelligence and "some may be inaccurate or inappropriate." The meta also includes "AI" before the creator's name and, at least for now, a "beta" tag after the person's name.
"We're working closely with creators to design chatbots to help answer the questions they get from their followers and talk to people in a way that's useful and fun," says Zuckerberg. "It's early days and the first beta version of these AIs, so we'll continue to improve them and make them available to more people soon."
In the interview, Zuckerberg spoke more about the company's strategy in the field of artificial intelligence. He said, “We think people want to interact with many different people and businesses, so there is a need to create many different AIs that reflect people's different interests.” Meta wants to empower creators and eventually small businesses to “create AI themselves.” to interact with their communities and customers.
"We think this will create a much more engaging experience." He also says that Meta will allow people to create characters or avatars with the help of artificial intelligence, but they will not necessarily be a reflection of the creator.
