Xiaomi recently hosted a major event in China where it unveiled a slew of new products, including the new Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro flagship phones, a smartwatch, a brand new operating system (HyperOS), a television, a refrigerator, and even a washing machine.

The Xiaomi 14 Pro smartphone will feature the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, variable aperture (similar to the Huawei Mate 50 Pro), up to 3000 nits brightness (the brightest display on a phone), Leica cameras, and DC and PWM dimming for eye comfort.

The Xiaomi Watch S3, however, is the company's first smartwatch to run on the all-new HyperOS system, which promises a fluid and unified interactive experience across various Xiaomi devices. The Xiaomi 14 phones will also be equipped with the same operating system.

The Xiaomi smartwatch has an AMOLED screen with a diagonal of 1.43 inches, which offers a refresh rate of 60 Hz, 326 ppi, a brightness of 600 nits and 256 levels of brightness adjustment.

According to Xiaomi, the Watch S3 introduces a unique interchangeable watch band design that allows users to simply twist it and set another one. It sounds similar to the Galaxy Watch6 Classic.

The smartwatch offers a wide variety of watch faces, including exclusive dynamic animation and sound effects. In addition, Xiaomi Watch S3 supports more than 150 sports modes, such as outdoor activities, skiing, ball games, dancing and much more.

Finally, Xiaomi revealed that the new Watch S3 smartwatch supports standalone dual-frequency five-satellite positioning for precise GPS tracking. Thanks to the L1+L5 dual-frequency GNSS chip, the smartwatch can use all five major satellite systems to determine its location.

In terms of price, Xiaomi has confirmed that the Watch S3 will be available in China for around $140. We can expect the watch to be available in Europe during MWC 2024 or perhaps a month or so later.
