The Go 3 is Insta360's latest action camera that's shaped like a pill and has an interesting feature - the camera's removable body includes a screen that flips up to view live footage. Although Insta360 cameras usually only come in one color, the engineers behind the Go 3 camera have done something extraordinary. This will also soon be available in a black color called Matte Black.

All other features remained exactly the same. The Go 3 case provides real-time viewing whether the camera is inserted into the case or not. Similar to the previous Go 2, the case also charges the camera, increasing battery life from 45 minutes (one charge) to 170 minutes. However, the Go 3's case capabilities and other improvements also mean a higher price compared to the previous model, with the base 32GB configuration currently available for around $430, or roughly €400.

Like the Go 2, the Go 3's small size allows it to shoot from unusual positions and angles, and like the Go 2, it also has a magnetic hanger and a hat clip. New to the Go 3 is an adjustable kickstand and a number of specification improvements such as longer battery life, slightly higher 2.7K video resolution with no recording limit, water resistance up to 4 meters (when outside the weatherproof housing), dual microphones with voice command capability, and built-in memory capacity up to 128 GB (for a higher price - about 430 dollars). The Go 3 is slightly heavier than the Go 2 at 35 grams, but the 3.5 gram difference is barely noticeable and seems like a fair trade-off for longer battery life and an interesting new body.

Smartphones will continue to be the first choice for recording and photography. Nevertheless, the new Go 3 could be a good solution for users who are willing to sacrifice some quality for better portability and convenience. And for additional durability.
