Fortnite is one step closer to returning to iPhones!

Apple has reinstated the Epic Games account. This will allow Epic Games to offer Fortnite on Apple mobile devices.
Fortnite is one step closer to returning to iPhones!

Fortnite Battle Royale (also known as just Fortnite) is a multiplayer survival video game developed by Epic Games. This is available for all users of mobile devices, with the exception of Apple devices. The credit for this goes to the dispute between Epic Games and Apple, which started back in 2020. The problem was that Epic Games did not want to pay Apple a 30% commission every time a user buys a mobile app or add-on within her.

At Epic Games, they approached the matter in such a way that they gave users of their popular game Fortnite a 20 percent discount on in-game purchases, while at the same time introducing their own payment system, with which payments are made directly. Epic Games violated the rules of the App Store, and as a result, the mobile version of Fortnite was easily removed from it. Fortunately, this is about to change for European users of Apple smartphones and tablets.

The Fortnite game will once again be available in Europe via the Apple App Store. Credit for this goes to the Digital Markets Act (DMA). This guarantees that equal competitive conditions and legal security for companies will be established on the market, and that the rights and interests of European citizens will be protected. Including access to mobile games.

The first step of returning the popular game Fortnite to Apple's mobile devices was made recently. Apple has re-established the Epic Games user account for the App Store. This will allow Epic Games to offer Fortnite and other games within the Apple App Store as its own online store.

It is currently unknown when exactly European users will actually be able to download the popular mobile game Fortnite to their Apple mobile devices. This will definitely happen once in March this year. Apple announced that it will include all requirements of the DMA Act in the upcoming mobile operating system iOS 17.4.
