An excellent external graphics card for demanding gamers

Although compact and portable gaming computers are currently in vogue, they have several problems: they are price and performance, which cannot be compared to classic computers. This is also true for portable gaming consoles, which are becoming more and more popular among PC gamers.

Such devices cannot have powerful graphics cards due to space limitations. However, users can take advantage of modern interfaces such as USB4 and OCuLink to significantly increase 3D performance. One way is to use eGPU enclosures, which can even house regular desktop graphics cards. Among all the providers, the company Minisforum stands out at the moment, namely with an advanced external graphics card R3GAF, which can easily cope with even the most demanding tasks. The novelty is already ready for sale, and its retail price is said to be low.

Minisforum has equipped its R3GAF external graphics card with an AMD Radeon RX 7600M XT mobile graphics card (12 graphics cores RDNA 3), which is very similar in terms of specifications to the Radeon RX 7600 model. However, due to the lower power consumption, it is not expected to provide exactly the same level of performance as the desktop version. However, the redesigned Minisforum R3GAF external graphics card has the ability to operate with power between 60 and 100 watts (depending on the current graphics needs), so it is much quieter in operation compared to the competition. In addition, it has eight gigabytes of GDDR6 graphics memory. This should also be enough for more graphically demanding computer games.

The Minisforum R3GAF external graphics card will be easy to carry around. In addition, it offers support for images with a resolution of up to 4K and a frequency of 120 hertz. The novelty is equipped with an OCuLink connector and not Thunderbolt 4. The retail price has not yet been revealed, but we expect it to be around 375 euros. This is considerably less compared to existing solutions.
