Will discrete graphics cards soon become obsolete?

AMD has recently introduced a new and very interesting processor, the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 “Strix Halo”. This is a very powerful processor that boasts an integrated Radeon 8060S graphics solution. The new processor will be available for both desktop and laptop computers and, as it turns out, will easily handle even the most demanding tasks, including demanding computer games.

The AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 “Strix Halo” processor has 16 physical and 32 virtual processor cores. The default frequency is 3 GHz, and the maximum is 5.1 GHz. The integrated Radeon 8060S graphics card is based on the RDNA 3.5 architecture. Since it calculates data at a frequency of 2,900 MHz, it will easily cope with even the most demanding tasks.

This was recently proven by computer enthusiasts who compared the graphics card integrated into the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 “Strix Halo” processor with the mobile version of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card. The results surprised even the most knowledgeable experts. The integrated graphics card was more powerful in 17 different games at 1080p resolution. This means that the graphics card integrated into the processor will be completely sufficient for playing games at 1080p resolution.
