ChatGPT available as a Windows program
OpenAI is testing a ChatGPT app for Windows, but for now it's only available to paid users. You can download the early version of the app from the Microsoft Store.
ChatGPT is also already available on Mac. You can expect the same performance in Windows. You can ask artificial intelligence questions in a special window that you can have open next to your applications. You can quickly access the application with the shortcut Alt + Space.
You can also upload files and photos to ChatGPT and access a preview of OpenAI's o1 language model, which is capable of forward thinking. However, the app still lacks some options, such as voice mode.
Shortly after OpenAI launched its ChatGPT app for Mac in June, the developer noticed a security vulnerability that stored conversations in plain text. OpenAI has fixed this problem and now encrypts locally stored data.
For now, the ChatGPT app for Windows is only available to paid users, but it should be available to everyone else by the end of the year.
