We believe Barcaffè Gin Barrel Aged will be popular this winter," says Tihana Vujčić, marketing director at Barcaffè. Maja Šterk Primožič, head of the espresso category at Barcaffè, says that "at Barcaffè have also taken a step further in creating unique coffee experiences that will enrich the offer of their HoReCa partners" and adds that "they are aware that exceptional quality is crucial for both business partners and consumers, and the result of hard work is coffee that combines distinct aroma and rich flavors that take every cafe guest on an unforgettable culinary journey.”
From aging in barrels for several months to coffee with a unique character
Barcaffè Gin Barrel Aged Coffee was created using the method of completely natural aromatization of coffee. A special blend of coffee beans is put by hand in oak barrels in which premium gin was previously aged. During several months of aging in barrels, the coffee beans absorbed the complex aromas of pine, orange and indigenous Mediterranean plants characteristic of Old Pilot's, giving this coffee its unique character.
After finishing the aging process, the coffee beans are carefully roasted to emphasize the authentic taste and aroma of the coffee even more. The end result is an exceptional gourmet coffee with a rich and layered flavor with notes of chocolate, hazelnut and caramel, enhanced by the aroma of gin and the deep, earthy character that comes from the oak barrels in which Old Pilot's matured.
The unique production method and authenticity make Barcaffè Gin Barrel Aged coffee special and exclusive, which is why it will be available in a limited series in a 250 gram package exclusively in selected HoReCa outlets.
Christmas cocktail with double espresso
At the event, the multiple-awarded coffee expert Aleš Gorenc prepared a special Christmas coffee cocktail with the guests, which, he says, should not be missing during the holidays. "After Christmas morning, lunch or dinner, prepare a Christmas cocktail with 5 cl of gin, 2 dcl of tonic and a double espresso. So first we pour the gin, then the tonic, at the end we pour over everything with a double espresso and serve with a garnish of dried orange." And like a true barista, we serve the cocktail with a smile.
