At MWC 2024, Xiaomi presented a smart ecosystem defined by the connection between people, vehicles and homes. The new ecosystem, of which the recently repositioned SU7 electric car is an integral part, serves as a glimpse into Xiaomi's pioneering vision of a smart future where all your needs are seamlessly met within one smart ecosystem.

"That's why we invited MWC participants to learn firsthand how Xiaomi's vision turns futuristic concepts into reality and changes the way we connect."

On the show floor, Xiaomi showcased new products, including the Xiaomi 14 series smartphones, the nearly 31.5-centimeter (12.4-inch) Xiaomi 6S Pro tablet, and a number of artificial intelligence-enabled Internet of Things (AIoT) devices that ready to elevate the experience of smart living. In addition, the latest Leica lens technologies and the robotic dog CyberDog 2 were on display.

Comprehensive connectivity upgrade

Xiaomi's transition from smartphone and IoT smart devices to a smart human-car-home ecosystem integrates personal devices, smart home products and cars comprehensively. This enables seamless connectivity of hardware devices, real-time coordination and driving progress, and collaboration with industry partners. At the same time, the proactive ecosystem is designed to seamlessly adapt to current and future needs.

The Xiaomi HyperOS operating system is more than just another open source version, as it contains system-level innovations aimed at promoting seamless collaboration between devices and ensuring consistent performance in all areas of the integrated smart life platform. As the foundation of the "human-car-home" smart ecosystem, it combines more than 200 product categories, includes 600 million global devices and covers more than 95 percent of use cases.[1] By collaborating with global partners, developers and manufacturers, the Xiaomi HyperOS system will allow the new ecosystem to take advantage of a wide range of possibilities.

Xiaomi's first electric car, the long-awaited Xiaomi SU 7, is a true full-fledged high-performance eco-friendly and technologically advanced sedan that pushes the boundaries of performance, device integration into the ecosystem and the design of a smart mobile space. In addition to the vehicle design, Xiaomi has also developed five key technologies: electric motor, integrated battery (CTB), die-cast chassis, autonomous driving (Xiaomi Pilot) and smart cabin. The extraordinary success is the result of the work of more than 3,400 engineers, 1,000 technical experts from key areas and an investment calculated in the amount of one and a half billion euros.

Mastery of mobile photography

With a strategic partnership with Leica, first revealed at the launch of the extraordinary Xiaomi 12S Ultra smartphone, Xiaomi has explored the essence of rendering and expanded the field of professional humanistic photography.

The partnership between Xiaomi and Leica has reached an important milestone with the establishment of the Xiaomi-Leica Optical Institute, driving significant advances in imaging technology and setting new standards for the user experience in photography. The newly launched Xiaomi 14 series of smartphones with next-generation Leica Summilux optical lenses provide unparalleled photographic performance that excels in all conditions and use cases.

Robotics and excellence in manufacturing

At the MWC, Xiaomi is also presenting the top-of-the-line robot CyberDog 2, for which they found inspiration in the nature of living beings. With a sensing and decision-making system with 19 sensors for vision, touch and hearing, the robot is designed to mimic the movements, appearance and interactions of a real dog, exemplifying Xiaomi's pioneering spirit and commitment to pushing the boundaries of robotics. And its open source nature supports an ecosystem ready for customization and programming, opening unlimited creative possibilities for developers.

In addition to pioneering technological products, Xiaomi continues to redefine manufacturing and place the smart factory at the forefront of industrial innovation. Agility, operational efficiency and precision are key principles at the heart of technological transformation. The establishment of the second phase of the smart factory in Beijing's Changping District underscores Xiaomi's unwavering commitment to providing unparalleled quality and pioneering innovation.

Building for a sustainable future

Xiaomi is not only committed to providing high-quality and sustainable products and services, but also places environmental protection and sustainable development at the center of its business strategy. By announcing its environmental efforts in a white paper at the COP28 conference, Xiaomi committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2040.

These milestones coincide with Xiaomi's active participation in important sustainability initiatives such as the GE100% initiative, advocating for the widespread use of renewable energy sources, and an extensive e-waste recycling program. In support of its mission of sustainable operations, Xiaomi has adopted a circular economy model with the goal of recycling 38,000 tons of electronic waste between 2022 and 2026.
