Asus ROG NUC: Small, powerful, but also expensive

Asus presented its first ROG NUC computer at the consumer electronics fair CES 2024. At that time, it did not reveal the price, but recently it finally offered the extremely interesting computer for sale. As expected, the novelty is not cheap, as it is equipped with powerful hardware.

Regardless of the price, the 2.5-liter ROG NUC looks like an impressive little computer. The specifications of the unit are not too demanding, so cooling and noise should not be a problem. There are two processors available to customers, namely Core Ultra 7 155H and Core Ultra 9 185H. You can install up to 64 GB of DDR5 memory (SO-DIMM), three SSD PCIe Gen 4 drives in the case of the novelty, and it also has support for WiFi 6E, 2.5 GB LAN and Thunderbolt 4/USB 4. The latter supports DP 2.1, which together with dual DP 1.4a and one HDMI input means ROG NUC supports up to four displays.

The new Asus ROG NUC is not cheap. For the version equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card, a calculated 1,506 euros will have to be deducted. For a more powerful version equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card, the calculated price is 2,360 euros. Without the graphics card and memory, the latter is available for a calculated price of 2,055 euros.
