Apple surprised with fast M3 processors
Apple has recently introduced a new generation of its own mobile processor with the designation M3. The novelty is manufactured using advanced 3-nanometer technology, which is an extraordinary achievement in the field of processor technology. Apple has introduced three models of the new M3 processor family, namely M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max. Compared to the previous generation of Apple's M2 processors, these bring both greater performance and more energy-efficient operation.
The entry-level Apple M3 model has 10 physical processor cores, while the M3 Pro and M3 Max models have 12 and 16 processor cores respectively. The M3 Pro and M3 Max models also boast a higher number of graphics cores, namely 18 for the Pro model and 40 for the Max model. Therefore, it is not surprising that the M3 model is on average 35 percent more powerful compared to the M1 model in computing data and 65 percent more powerful in computing graphical content. In total, the new product is about 20 percent more powerful than the previous generation.
The M3 Pro model is on average 20 percent more powerful compared to the M1 Pro model in computing data and 40 percent more powerful in computing graphic content. The most powerful M3 Max model is as much as 80 percent more powerful compared to the M1 Max model in computing data and 50 percent more powerful in computing graphic content. This means that it will easily convince even the most demanding users.
In addition, the integrated graphics cores offer support for a rich range of video codecs. Among them are AV1, H.264, HEVC, ProRes and ProRes RAW standards. Therefore, we believe that Apple computers equipped with M3 processors will definitely appeal to many users.
