AMD is investigating claims of stolen company data

AMD is investigating a potential cyber attack. A cyber attacker using the nickname "IntelBroker" is selling data he claims was obtained from a hack of the company this month, BleepingComputer reports. AMD has confirmed that it is investigating whether an attack actually took place, but they do not yet have concrete evidence. IntelBroker claims that the data it sells includes future products, employee databases and customer databases.

"We are aware of a cybercriminal organization that claims to have stolen AMD data," AMD said. "We are working closely with law enforcement and the external hosting partner to investigate the claim and the relevance of the data."

In the past, IntelBroker has attempted to sell data allegedly stolen from Europol, The Home Depot and the DC Health Link health insurance marketplace.

In 2022, AMD confirmed that they were investigating claims that 450 GB of data had been stolen from them by the hacking group RansomHouse, but never officially confirmed that their data had actually been stolen.
