Windows 10 is still gaining new users
Microsoft is increasingly focusing on the development of the Windows 12 operating system. Nevertheless, the current Windows 11 still receives many improvements. The new version of the operating system brings a renewed design and puts the user and his content at the center. Although the Windows 11 operating system is now available to everyone, according to StatCounter statistics, it is currently used by only 25.65 percent of users worldwide. In practice, this means that the number of users has decreased, as Windows 11 was used by 26.68 percent of users just one month later.
On the other hand, 70.03 percent of PC users still swear by the Windows 10 operating system. Its market share increased by almost one percentage point compared to the previous month. This effectively means that the number of computers running Windows 10 has increased here at the expense of the lower popularity of the modern Windows 11 operating system.
This is of course not to Microsoft's liking, as it naturally wants to reduce the percentage of the Windows 10 operating system as soon as possible and "migrate" as many users as possible to Windows 11. The company will actually try to achieve this by abandoning major feature upgrades for Windows 10. The Windows 10 22H2 update was namely the last major update of this operating system. This has been available to users since November 18 last year. Microsoft naturally encourages users to switch to the much more modern Windows 11 Moment 5.
Windows 10 will be supported until October 14, 2025. Of course, there will be "exceptions". This will be for individuals and companies willing to pay for additional support. This will be available for another two years, and immediately after that, Windows 10 should go into the eternal hunting grounds.
