All the more reason to subscribe to YouTube Premium
As it turns out, YouTube is keen for users to subscribe to YouTube Premium. The flood of ads on practically every YouTube step for free users, the blocking of the use of "ad blockers" and there would probably be some more or less intrusive way that YouTube puts more and more pressure on users so that they finally decide and press the "subscribe" button . If many past upgrades of the platform have often received criticism, the latest one is much more positive.
After YouTube raised its subscription prices, Premium users will now be offered a UI experience that free users won't get.
Until recently, the UI functionality was only available in an experimental phase, but now it is gradually coming to users. To start with YouTube Premium users in the US, the new feature is currently only available on the Android app.
The novelty brought by the functionality is that users will be able to establish a deeper interaction with the videos. As we can see in the video attached above on the example of a cooking video, the user asked the question in the new UI tool: "Which ingredients do they use?". We could ask the UI tool to summarize the video for us, suggest similar content, etc.
To launch the new tool, YouTube has added a new “Ask” button located below the player. There we can choose pre-prepared prompts or write something of our own. So the principle of operation is very practically the same as with all other models of generative artificial intelligence.
Google Photos users have a similar “Ask Photos” functionality. Powered by Gemini, the tool lets you interact with Google Photos photos. Google appears to be rolling out similar UI tools across its broad portfolio of services and devices to attract more users willing to pay for subscriptions. Is artificial intelligence an attractive enough reason to convince you to subscribe to YouTube Premium?
