Solid State with a dizzying capacity of 61 terabytes
There is never enough storage space. For the most demanding users, it is lacking especially on Solid State drives or the devices are very expensive. But everything takes its time, and so it is with Solid State drives. The company Solidigm has recently managed to combine incredible capacity, speed of operation and even compactness in a new product that is intended for both server environments and advanced users.
The new Solidigm drive with the sales code D5-P5336 is based on 3D NAND memory elements and a PCIe 5.0 x4 interface. The novelty is extremely fast in operation. In addition, it can store as much as 61 terabytes (61.44 terabytes to be exact) of data. Since it is a single drive, it can save as much as 60 percent of electricity compared to a larger number of Solid State drives of smaller capacities.
The 61 terabyte Solidigm D5-P5336 drive is now available for pre-order in the United States through the Tech-America online store. Of course, this one is not cheap. It is necessary to deduct a calculated 3,390 euros for it.
Fortunately, the Solidigm D5-P5336 drive is available in even lower capacities, namely 7.68 terabytes, 15.36 terabytes, and 30.72 terabytes. Unfortunately, there is currently no information on when the Solid State drive will hit the European market.
