ASrock started selling a new graphics card
ASRock has very quietly started offering a new low-profile Intel Arc A310 graphics card, aimed primarily at building, upgrading or repairing compact PCs that need basic graphics and solid video playback capabilities, such as office PCs or PCs for home multimedia experience. The card is by no means intended to run the latest games, but its advantage is compatibility with various desktop systems.
ASRock's Intel Arc A310 Low Profile 4GB graphics card features an Intel ACM-G11 GPU with 6 Xe cores (768 stream processors at 2.0GHz) and features 4GB of GDDR6 memory that uses a 64-bit interface. Although this card has a stripped-down version of the ACM-G11 GPU with lower gaming performance (putting it in the lower tier), it still offers superior media processing capabilities with built-in hardware encoding/decoding for popular formats such as AV1, H.264, H.265 and VP9.
As for display outputs, it has one DisplayPort 2.0 input with DSC and one HDMI 2.0b port. It is not mentioned whether DisplayPort supports Multi-Stream Transfer Technology (MST), so it is most likely that the card only supports connecting two displays at the same time.
For cooling purposes, it has been equipped with two fans and two modes of heat dissipation, which, frankly, is excessive for a card that consumes a maximum of 75 W. According to the first information, it seems that ASRock borrowed the design of the cooler and the printed circuit board from its the recently introduced low-profile Arc A380 graphics cards.
ASRock does not list the price on its website, which is not surprising. Although there aren't many low-profile graphics cards on the market today, there are low-profile Arc A310 boards from various manufacturers. Since it is a low-end card, it is expected that the price will be appropriate.
