Google's Gemini AI gets even faster

Google has announced that its Gemini artificial intelligence (AI) has been upgraded to the Gemini 2.0 Flash AI model. The upgraded model “delivers faster responses and improved performance across a number of key metrics, helping you with everyday tasks like brainstorming, learning, or writing,” Google says.

The new model will be available on the Gemini web and mobile app and will be available to all users. If you have a new HONOR, Samsung or Xiaomi phone, you can already check if the model is also available on your phones.

Google says we'll still be able to use the Gemini 1.5 Flash and 1.5 Pro models for "the next few weeks."

The American giant first unveiled Gemini 2.0 in December and offered it to beta testers, promising that end users wouldn't have to wait long to try it out for themselves. Just under two months after the announcement, they delivered on their promise.

Finally, they announced that Gemini now uses the latest version of the Imagen 3 text-to-image generator to create photos. According to Google, the model “delivers richer detail and texture” and “follows your instructions with greater accuracy.”
