Mini PCs for work and play can be boring and are often relatively slow due to their limited dimensions. This is by no means true of the Minisforum UM870 Slim miniature computer. The novelty is powerful enough to be used both for work and for fun. The computer was initially only available for purchase in China. Recently, however, it has also entered markets around the world. Unfortunately, Slovenia is not yet on the list.

The compact Minisforum UM870 Slim personal computer is based on an unusual eight-core AMD Ryzen 7 8745H processor, which consumes only 45 watts of electrical power at full load, or 65 watts at full load. It has a Radeon 780M graphics card built into it. The rest of the hardware includes up to 96 gigabytes of DDR5-5600 system memory and a solid state drive with a capacity of one terabyte. The built-in graphics card can cope with 4K resolution graphic content, which means that it can also be used as a home media player. Beelink SER8 is equipped with two HDMI interfaces, five USB ports and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless connections.

The Windows 11 operating system is installed on the Solid State drive. Of course, open source Linux distributions can also be installed on it. The novelty is extremely quiet in operation. Namely, it produces up to a maximum of 32 dB of noise at full load. The entry-level version of the innovative Minisforum UM870 Slim computer, measuring only 130 x 127 x 50 millimeters, is available outside China for a calculated price of 325 euros (entry-level version).
