Soon the first phone with a screen that can be rolled up like paper?

The company Samsung pleasantly surprised the visitors of the SID fair back in 2016 with an innovative screen that is supposed to revolutionize consumer electronics products. Here it was a 5.7-inch (14.5-centimeter) OLED screen, which could be bent, folded and even rolled up. It attracted quite a bit of interest, but immediately after that there was nothing more to say about it. At least so far.

The company Samsung has been preparing a flexible screen for several years, and now it is said to have been refined enough that it could soon be used for the production of interesting electronic devices. If online rumors are to be believed, the Samsung company should prepare a screen with a screen that can be rolled into the body like classic paper without the possibility of damage as early as next year.

The first screen of its kind is said to be equipped with a 12.4-inch or 31.5-centimeter diagonal. This one is said to even be equipped with a hidden webcam under the matrix. The novelty will most likely be presented as part of next summer's Galaxy Unpacked event.
